My broad scientific interests include developmental origins of disease and social determinants of heath. Using population-based data, I investigate how maternal social disadvantages and clinically modifiable conditions during pregnancy shape child health across the life course. The objective is to identify modifiable maternal risk pathways and early intervention strategies. Supported by a Forte grant, I am currently involved in a Sweden-Canada research collaboration, focusing on the role of maternal chronic diseases in fetal programming of child health and development.
